A Link Presented Without Comment

Ad

All I will say at this point (and believe me, I have a lot of thoughts on this matter, obviously) is that no, I am not part of the group referenced in the ad.  There have been times I have wanted to support John McCain for president, however, every time he opens his mouth he makes it more and more difficult for me to do so.

Why I Don't Like Obama

So I supported Hillary Clinton. Obviously.

Throughout my backing of her, I knew I was supporting a flawed individual with skeletons in the closet. I would imagine all of Hillary's supporters would say the same. I believe McCain's supporters might make a similar statement about him.

I'd like to wager a guess that there are good amount of Obama supporters (at least those I met) think they are supporting a pure and wondrous being. He's a CHICAGO POLITICIAN. The chances of this being true are about the same as ME getting elected president this November. Call me a cynic (I wear the title with pride) - I don't f*#&ing buy it, Obama.

Here's my problem with him: he ran a campaign based purely on hypocrisy. AND SO MANY PEOPLE DIDN'T NOTICE. He made some statements about how 'he's about a different kind of politics". ok. He's not into the mudslinging; those kind of things distract from the real issues. fine. He comes out and says he's different, he's about change, blah blah blah. But in saying this, he pretty much insinuates (and at times outright says) that all of his competition is about old school politics, distractions, etc. In doing so, HE SLINGS MUD ON HIS COMPETITION. That's the whole platform of his campaign - vote for me because I'm not like these other guys who really really suck!! Hypocrisy in its purest form!! He is a brilliant manipulator (which is really a quality I personally could live without in a president).

His supporters, who all think he's 'not like the rest' will all argue that one should vote for him because Hillary Clinton, John McCain, or whomever else there is, is worse for reasons x, y and z. It's a big giant mud bath, which last time I checked, was the politics we're trying to get away from!!

One thing I will give Barack is that he's very smart - he's not unaware of what's taken place. He's just basking in the fact that everyone else seems to be.

I'll end it with this - I'm not saying I won't vote for Obama. But I'm still looking for a good reason to that doesn't involve "because the alternative sucks". That platform backfired on John Kerry - let's learn from recent history, Democrats!

Before I Have to Start Supporting Him (Solely Because of the Supreme Court)

Sweetie

I bet most of my readers are surprised I have yet to comment on Barack Obama referring to a female reporter as 'sweetie'....

Just wait....

This Upcoming Tuesday is Very Important

So this upcoming Tuesday is the Indiana and North Carolina primaries. It's tight.

Now, we have a super delegate system. It's kind of like the electoral college - it sees that the popular vote isn't the first and last word. Supposedly, Americans can overall make a bad decision in the popular vote (see November 2004). These supers supposedly know more about the political system and the best interest of the party than the average American voter, so if they need to step in and intervene, they can.

Agree or disagree with the system, it's in play for the above reason. There has been a lot of chatter that the super delegates can't/shouldn't go against the popular vote. However, that's the point of them - that they can do so if they feel it's what's best. Otherwise, they'd just be ordinary old regular average run of the mill boring plain and simple mediocre delegates. So, it's their job to piss people off and tell them they'll thank them for it later, if need be.

What do I have to say about this?

Come on now super delegates!! Do what you've been hired to do!!

Obamarama

I'm not fair and balanced and I'm not claiming to be. Yes, I am biased. Very biased. And these biases are laced all throughout this blog, I realize.

Upon watching the Democratic debate - I have but one statement for my bff Barack - answer the f#%*ing question. Now, I personally can't say I have ever felt that his choice of pastor, etc., was ever a problem or a deciding factor in whom I support, HOWEVER....

If Bill Clinton supposedly "owed" the American people an explanation about his extramarital affair, Obama most certainly owes us an explanation for his ties to some questionable individuals. And that's all we're asking for - an explanation! He should be able to answer the question and brush it off quickly, instead of whining about the fact that he was asked it in the first place. If you're running for president - you best expect to being asked to explain yourself.

Instead, here is what we got: "Why don't I wear a flag pin? Shame on YOU for even asking!!" He turned the tables during the debate and some of our most adept, intelligent political analysts were siding with him! There's something ironic about our political journalists saying "how dare they ask him that?" (something about pots & kettles comes to mind...)

Now, again, I'm not implying I believe Obama's a politician of questionable values (any more so than the next candidate, at least...), however, if you can't stand the heat Mr. Obama....

Do Due Diligence

It's scary when I think conservative political commentator Sean Hannity has a good point.

Yesterday, in the wake of the resurface of good old Reverend Jeremiah Wright - he brought up the point of "what if this is the real Barack Obama? what if the media did not do it's due diligence in looking into Obama's background?"

Regardless of your stance on Obama - I have to agree with my man Sean here. The media has handled Obama with kid gloves - or at least did for the first 15 months of his campaign. It took SNL to call them out on it, too. Even some of the most cynical, biting, investigative commentators have chanting "yes we can" this whole time.

Obama supporters should be disappointed in the media as well on this one - his campaign would be able to better stand up to these potential rising issues if the media gotten more of a background insight on him all along. These past two months seem to be the first time he's been questioned on anything (and the media CERTAINLY doesn't blindly take Hillary's word). Let's be honest, the notion of Obama being potentially anti-American is nothing remotely resembling dead to John McCain's camp - and Bush was re-elected on the fear of anti-American sentiments.

Honestly, I personally have never been able to warm up to Obama - partially because I feel like I just don't know what's underneath the warm charisma (not that I'm implying I agree with the notion that he's anti-American - I don't). The news world had a job to do - this man is running for the most important job in the world, it's time to thoroughly investigate him and what he's about - and I give the media a big fat F.

If it becomes Obama vs. McCain...

...and I thought 2004 was about picking the lesser evil....

Well, at least this time around we'll have two candidates who are intelligent with likable personalities. That's two more than we had in 2004.

Politics Part 3

Politics Part 2

So, for once in my life, I am in agreement with Ann Coulter. Bear in mind - I score in the high 90s on a 'how liberal are you' political quiz. I am someone who feels sorry for conservatives - and I mean that in the nicest way.

Let me start with a sidenote: I secretly LIKE Ann Coulter - not in spite of her bitchiness but BECAUSE of it. Ramming her head up against that glass ceiling in the REPUBLICAN party - which she HAD to do to get where she's at - she must secretly not believe in half the theories she's pimping. If you ignore everything she actually says - she's mildly tolerable.

Anyhow, the crazy bitch said the Republican party is trying to employ the same strategy the Democratic party used in 2004 - take a non-controversial, non-objectionable, non-personality as the candidate and hope the other party's polarizing, strong personality turns more people off than on - and hope to win the election on that alone.

I don't know about you, but I hope it works as well for the Republican party this year as it did for the Democratic party in 2004!

Let's make it happen!

Barack and Roll

"Barack Obama Makes Great Speech"

I'm just curious - how often has/will said headline (or a very close variation) come up between last January and this coming November?

Let's make things interesting...anyone want to place any bets? Anyone willing to tally?
