Update on Lee DeWyze

In case anyone cares....

And I'm guessing you all don't...

This coming November, I will be attending a wedding.

No, not HIS wedding, despite the fact that the word on the street is he's engaged.  Anyhow.

It's my friend Laura's wedding.  Her family is active in St. James' Church, where Lee went to middle school.  In short - Lee's mother will be at said wedding.  I'm hoping Lee will make an appearance, and maybe sing a song.  I need to work out these details with Laura.  But if that doesn't happen - hopefully I can have a cocktail will Mrs. DeWyze, if nothing else.

Tire(d).

So, I know this has been discussed before - but my car has a little 'history' behind it.

He was on such a good streak....  I really thought we'd turned the proverbial corner.

However, in the past week and a half, it was hit back whilst being parked on the street.  There is damage.  Naturally, the damage occurred right next to pre-existing damage from a prior hit and run - good thing I never got that fixed.  I guess sometimes, we must be grateful for the little things.

My friends Laura and Rachel both have had car issues in the past week.   I take comfort in the fact that these things happen in 3s....so we must be done.

Now comes the question - should I fix my car?  The small problem is he will just be set back out on the street.  Could this easily happen to him again?   Is it worth it to fix him?  Is this the same concept as loving again after being hurt?  Or cleaning up, when things just get dirty again?

What should I do?  Your thoughts?

I'm Not Pretending to be a Food Blogger

but....

1)  I am inspired by fellow bloggers (of the food variety) Becky and Laura

2)  I cooked myself a nice dinner.  And, although I thoroughly appreciated it (at least my taste buds and stomach did),  I felt it was too good to keep to myself.  And, it photographed so prettily.

Sigh.

I suppose photographing and posting the dirty dishes and grocery bill from this meal would really complete the picture.

Help a Sista Out....

So, my friend Laura, a non-blog reader (GASP!), is in need of some possible help. I know what you're thinking; she doesn't read the blog, is she living in some third world country where internet access is not available? If the answer is no, then how am I even friends with her? Well, she's a good person and she has helped me move, multiple times. Anyhow, she is raising money for fighting heart disease. See below:

You can join our team OR donate at: www.advocateheartwalk.com
To Donate (In 3 Easy Steps):
1. Scroll down under "Advocate Lutheran General Hospital: Operations-Professional Services" (Gray Heading)
2. Click on "ALGH Rehab Services"
3. Scroll down and click on my name to donate!

To Join:
1. Follow step 1 from above
2. Look for "ALGH Rehab Services" and CLICK on "Join Team" (next to my name)
3. Click "I agree"
4. Fill out the form and starting getting donations!

Some stats to consider:
- Every 37 seconds, someone in America dies from heart disease
- In the next 30 days, we will lose 73,235 men, women and children to heart disease
- In the United States, total cariovascular disease is the leading cause of death. Looking at specific age groups, CV disease is the number 2 cause of death for people ages 25-74

If you are interested in helping or know someone who might be - please pass the info along. Thanks a ton!

Slow News Day

This is my friend Laura while she was out walking through Boston for the Breast Cancer Three Day.   She and Courtney came across the random mailbox and took a picture.  (Click the picture to enlarge.)

For those of you completely random stalkers out there reading this blog - no, I have no particular reason for posting this picture of a completely random mailbox.
