The Travel Bug Bit Me....

So, just as I was saying that prior to my Miami trip, I hadn't been out of town in forever, another trip has arrived on my horizon.  I'm San Diego bound with one of my best college friends.  Woohoo!

I'll be staying at the above resort (Humphrey's Half Moon Inn) - review to come.  I look very forward to this trip.  I have already 'Monica Gellared out' this trip and suggested a complete and total itinerary - I made sure to hold off on this until my counterpart booked her non-refundable airfare.

Anyhow.  As I said, I'm very excited.  If anyone has any San Diego must-see/should avoid suggestions, I am very open to them.  I expect to be an avid traveler by the end of the year.  Pretty soon my passport will be full - maybe by the end of this year I'll even get my first passport.

I am So Proud....

One of my very good friends, Stacey, was named one of the top singles of St. Louis. She's not just your 'run of the mill' single. She's one of the TOP singles. See below:

Top Singles

I wonder how one gets nominated for such a thing. I would like to compete with my fellow Chicago singles.

A New Blog!

So my very good friend Stacey started a blog. I'd like to think I inspired her. I'd like to think I inspire many. Anyhow. It appears as though it's a blog about dating. Specifically, her dating life. I'd try to write the same blog, however, I'd realistically only have one post every 6 months, at best.

Anyhow. With no further ado:

Stacey's Blog

Enjoy.

Jean Shorts?

Ok, what are everyone's thoughts on jean shorts - aka jorts? I know some of my good friends have strong feelings on these. I distinctly remember, back in college, right around the inception of facebook groups, one of the biggest groups out there was 'Students Against Jean Shorts'.

Ok, in my personal opinion - if you're a male and you're over the age of 15, jorts are off limits. If you're a child, then it's ok. For women - I guess it depends. I say this because, blush, well, I own a pair of jorts. They're quite old, actually - like 8 years at least (so they were acquired at a time when jorts were less taboo, at least I'd like to think). I can't honestly remember the last time I wore them. However, for some reason, each spring cleaning, they keep surviving the goodwill cut. I think it depends on a lot of things - however, these jorts that I own are short and have a cute cut to them, so they, in MY opinion, SHOULD be acceptable.

Thoughts? Can/should I wear my jorts? Will I be judged?

Happy Birthday Wehe!!

So my very good friend Stacey has her birthday today! Happy B-Day to my pledge mom/wife/former roommate! It's ironic that I was going through some old stuff from college and found a bunch of pictures of she and I today - and to both our relief - I don't own a scanner, so I unfortunately can't post them. Let's just say, though, that one involved a keg in a bathtub. I digress. Anyhow, Happy Birthday to my reciprocal birthday buddy Stacey, the only redeeming quality the of the city of St. Louis.

St. Louis Weekend

Little did I know I'd run into more than one old friend in the good old STL.

Meet Me in St. Louis?

I'll be out of town this coming weekend. This is the first time I've been out of town in a LONG time. This is not, and I repeat, NOT an excuse to not check this blog - a lot of comments may arise (especially since we now have anonymous) that will surely be worth reading. I hope to have good pictures when I return. :)

2009!!!!!!

So it's 2009!  Woohoo.   I didn't have too many bad feelings toward 2008.  I've had worse years.

I did, indeed, celebrate New Year's Eve - I went to a friend's party.  I am very curious, given the state of the economy and everyone cutting back, how the $100 bar package sales did.  It seems like lately most people feel New Year's Eve is overrated (every one I have spoken with about this event has said so) - they say it with the same disdain and defiance of someone denouncing a very popular band or tv show - as if to go against the mainstream.  However, hating on NYE seems to be the mainstream.

Anyhow.  Long story short, I had a good one.  My friend Stacey is here.  Today we caught up with our pledge child/grandchild/sister Erica.  Tomorrow we will have coffee in the day with we have a sorority sister's private party to crash at night.  Goodtimes.

I'll work on making my resolutions this weekend.  I'm going to go against the grain of hating on New Year's Eve/New Year's and celebrate every aspect of it.
