So, until recently, I've never been into listening to whole CDs. Back in hs, I would buy CDs and very rarely listen to the whole thing - only once in a while. It was more that I would put it on to listen to a certain song, then change it to another cd with a certain song. I really would have loved an ipod/itunes back then. Then, in college, I would make CDs of various songs ('I made you a mix tape'). Now, I have an ipod/itunes.
However, somehow, my latest interest (aside from blogging), has become listening to whole CDs. It kind of started with Taylor Swift, but it's really expanded. I looked up artists that I really liked a song from, then downloaded the whole CD. Now I understand the whole 'really good album' concept - I thought it meant moreso that someone ended up having a lot of singles from an album. Anyhow.
Any 'good album' recommendations? Anyone else out there like me, in this respect?

I don't know your taste but,
There is a group that is just starting to get some national attention called Green River Ordinance. While I do not have their new album since it does not come out until tomorrow 2/24, I have not heard one of their songs that I don’t love.
Their new album called “Out of My Hands” http://www.myspace.com/gro
If you like Matt Nathanson
"At the Point" & “Some Mad Hope”
Colbie Caillat's Bubbly might not be an all discer, but there are a lot of good songs on there that have not been released as singles
Any album by Counting Crows
Anything by Dashboard Confessional
David Gray's White Ladder
I'm a big fan of Madeleine Peyroux. Beautiful voice and lyrics.
I don't remember what kind of music you like...judging by your recent posts, I see that you enjoy country, which saddens me. Anyway, I have to plug The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band....it is perhaps the best album ever made and it only works when you listen to the whole thing.
Other than that, there's not much new music out there that's worth buying a whole disc for. I think Itunes has done a good job of destroying the "concept" album. And yes, I enjoy lots of newer music but I don't think anything compares to the old stuff.
Abbey Road by The Beatles.
also, Rabbit Fur Coat by Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins
d. gray's white ladder is awesome... I heart anonymous, haha. I also agree that any Counting Crows album is a safe bet.
also - the new Lenka cd (she sings the 'im just a little bit caught in the middle' song), the first 'the Fray' album, both of Jason Mraz's albums. Coldplay's 'a rush of blood to the head' is great too.
