Just Wondering....

Is anyone watching American Idol this year?  Anyone?

I have started it.  Well, I have tried to start it.  I'm about to give up on mile 13 of this marathon, knowing that, often times, the second part is the hardest.  I may, soon, shockingly, delete it from my dvr.

It's not that the judges are bad.  Perhaps it's the whole premise of 'you can't follow a legend'.  We need a simon there.  We need the risk that he's going to berate the hell out of one of the contestants.  The fact that that possibility existed kept us all on our feet.  Instead, now we just have to worry about one of them being told it 'wasn't his best'.    It's not that any of the contestants are interesting enough to keep an audience alone - but it's not that they ever have been.

Sigh.  Maybe I'm still coming off the Lee DeWyze win.  What's he up to these days?  Did he move to back Mt. Prospect?  I'm guessing no.  Did he go back to the paint store?  I kid.  I kid.  Kind of.

Anyhow.  I'm close to throwing in the towel on this season...anyone out there, other than the fox execs, going to try to persuade me otherwise?

Drama!!

So Paula's out and Kara's in.

I don't think this was a wise decision. Whether or not Paula "made this decision herself", it's pretty obvious her hand was forced. And I don't think the 'puppermaster' on this one is thinking.

Both of these woman are equally worthless in the charisma department. Kara is supposedly some music industry seasoned-veteran, but Paula Abdul is better known. And more importantly, Paula has more entertainment value. One can laugh at (not with) her. Right now Kara's just plain blah and boring. If she starts saying 'listen dawg', she might as well be Randy Jackson. She needs to start taking drugs or something to up her humor ante, otherwise she might as well not be there.
