So, today, the Chicago Sun-Times had one of its book sales. It looked a little like this....



Despite the pushing and shoving, I was able to get some good finds. For instance:



It will help give me material for my next Tina Fey impersonation. I couldn't help but think some of my coworkers were looking at me and possibly judging me, for it gave the appearance that I'm a 'Sarah' fan. This is why I sometimes hate buying books at public places, like bookstores. Unless it's a typical best-seller, someone is judging your choice and making assumptions about your personality. I always say the book I'm looking at is a gift for someone, even if it isn't. I, at first, loved amazon for the reason of buying books in private, UNTIL they started recommending books to me that 'I might like based on other books I've viewed'. Ugh. Anyhow. The goodness of a booksale can't be passed up for this reason alone. I got some other good shameful products while I was there, including....

However - TINA FEY stole my joke! Ok, I know you're ALL gonna say 'drinking games' isn't the most original idea, but I was playing them back during the DNC!!!

And actually, as you see below, I chose 'reformer' for the VP Debate. I opted for 'Maverick" back around the time of the RNC. I guess, Tina, we'll have to agree to disagree (and see who ends up more drunk).

Sigh....the sincerest form of flattery!?!?!

I'd Like To Thank...

...Sarah Palin for wearing all black at the VP Debate - she has made my Halloween costume so much easier.  I do not own a red or creme color blazer, as she has appeared in public in before, and I did not intend to buy one.  However, this will be quite simple now.  I just need a nifty beaded flag pin like that and I'll be all set.  :-)

...And Your Tina Fey Glasses!!!!

Over the past couple days, I've noticed multiple ads for Lasik Eye Surgery.  Random, because I have not blogged about anything regarding eyesight (and that's where the ads typically come from - things I've blogged about - hence the dating sites and halloween costumes).  

I can only wonder if the google ads are stalking me (maybe they're taking a cue from the Chicago Dianetics Society), because, let's be honest, I have TERRIBLE eyesight.  I have the worst eyesight of anyone I've ever met.  

I always meet people who comment to me on how bad THEIR eyesight is - I'll then ask them their glasses prescription and they'll say 'Oh, it's like negative four!'.  UMM, mine is over negative 10!!!  In order to find my glasses on an empty table without contacts in - I have to put my arm out and 'slap around'.  Without my glasses, I cannot recognize people from more than three feet away, nor can I read the giant "E" at the eye doctor's office.  

Maybe these google ads are trying to send me a hint.  Has anyone out there had Lasik Eye Surgery?   Any recommendations/warnings?  Let me know your thoughts.
