Nail Preferences

I have to admit, I'm becoming more conservative in my 'advancing age', if you will.  In my nail polish color choices, that is.  I used to be all about the red and pink when I was really young.  Then I got into the blues and greens (hey, it was the late '90s).  I also stopped by nail art.  I might revisit that again soon.

Anyhow.  Right now, my two favorite colors are right here.

Beige and gray.  Well.  According to OPI, I believe they are 'Don't Feed the Hand Models' and 'Break a Leg Warmer'.  Anyhow.  What I know is I love them both.  A ton.  I'm really getting into the gray and beige families these days.  But don't worry.  It's not a permanent change.  Next week I'm (hopefully) planning for some nail art to mix things up a bit.  Variety is the spice of life.

A Brief Touch of Irony

So I just got my Glamour Magazine in the mail the other day - as Jay Leno would say - my bible.  In in, there was an ad for the Kardashian line of nailpolish by OPI.  I have spoken before on how OPI perfectly names their nailpolishes.  Well, they really hit the nail on the head recently.  In the Nicole by OPI division, Kardashian line, in Kim's division - there is a lovely pink color.  The name, as can be seen here, is, wait for it....

Kim-pletely In Love.

I guess this was one detail she couldn't get around with her staged nuptials.  Although, this could be completely accurate, seeing that it does not specify exactly who she is 'kimpletely in love' with.  Perhaps it's her sisters, or her work, or fame, or, mayhaps, herself.  In that case, this is probably spot-fucking-on.  No judgment.

Really Slow News Day.

So, according to Cosmopolitan magazine, white nailpolish is the new thing for Spring/Summer.  It's supposedly popular amongst the goth peeps (as opposed to black nails we knew a couple years ago).

Your thoughts?

I personally really don't see anything too goth or rebellious about it.  I may take it for a test drive soon.  You?

My Secret Dream Job...

...naming the OPI Nail Polishes.  Let it be known that I am perfectly qualified for this job.  I like to think I have a way with words.  I like to think I'm good at the clever little Sex and the City style puns/plays on words.  And I most certainly know their product.  I'm an avid consumer.  Right now, I am wearing High Maintenance on my fingers and Ms. Can't be Wrong on my toes.   Someone does this job.  It exists.   How can I take over?   Anyone who wants to assist in this plot is welcome.

Thoughts on Blue and Green Nail Polish?

So, recently, I received a text message from my mother, asking what I thought of the new green and blue nail polish out for spring.

Hmm.  Not sure.

I guess my original opinion of this would be that it reminds me of something I would have worn back in high school, but at this point, it might be a little juvenile or, mayhaps, alternative for the sake of being different.  So, I guess I'd say it would be something I'd have loved when I was younger, but not so much now.

However, I can't help but notice it's becoming rather prevalent - I see all of my favorite brands (OPI included) are releasing a blue and a green for summer.  I also see it in fashion mags.

Well, today I had a great coupon to good old Ulta 3.  I decided to take the plunge.

I'll be sporting this look either this week or next.  I'm curious what kind of reactions I'll get.

Update to come.
