A Brief Touch of Irony

So I just got my Glamour Magazine in the mail the other day - as Jay Leno would say - my bible.  In in, there was an ad for the Kardashian line of nailpolish by OPI.  I have spoken before on how OPI perfectly names their nailpolishes.  Well, they really hit the nail on the head recently.  In the Nicole by OPI division, Kardashian line, in Kim's division - there is a lovely pink color.  The name, as can be seen here, is, wait for it....

Kim-pletely In Love.

I guess this was one detail she couldn't get around with her staged nuptials.  Although, this could be completely accurate, seeing that it does not specify exactly who she is 'kimpletely in love' with.  Perhaps it's her sisters, or her work, or fame, or, mayhaps, herself.  In that case, this is probably spot-fucking-on.  No judgment.  

Emmy Recap.

There is only one thing I want to say on the subject on this past Emmys.  It has nothing to do with the winners, the losers, the host, anyone's dress, etc.

What the F was that random recurring background noise?!  It drove me f'ing NUTS.  It sounded like a cell phone alarm (eh er eh eh), only it NEVER stopped.  I know it had to be coming from the tv - when I turned it off or put it on silent, it went away.  I know, per a facebook post, that I was not the only one who heard this.  What WAS that?!  Does anyone know?  I'm not going to ask if anyone else heard it - I KNOW I'm not alone!!!

Update on Lee DeWyze

Last year, I spent a good amount of time following Lee DeWyze and his American Idol journey.  I also followed his personal life.

I have recently learned an update.  Per the American Idol facebook page, he is now engaged.  Her name is either Joanna or Jonna Walsh (I've seen both in the American Idol article).  Apparently, they met while casting for his video 8 months ago.  So, apparently, any rumor of him dating Lacey Brown was just that (or it ended quite a while ago).

Anyhow.  I send my sincere congrats Lee's way.  This does make me a little sad that I won't marry him.  (Another complication that would prevent this is that I've never actually met him in person.)  Anyhow.   It looks like our nice little young Mount Prospect boy has a fiance.  Best wishes, Lee!

Natalie Portman

Is it just me, or does Natalie Portman seem, well, PERFECT?  Oscar winning actress.  Beautiful.  Harvard education.  Humanitarian.  Great relationship with her parents.  Vegetarian.  Never gets in trouble for drug use or drunken stupidity like a lot of her peers.  I feel like whenever I see or hear any review of her, it's simply singing her praises for her brilliance.

I want to know her dirty secret (or two).  I am sure she has one.   If anyone knows something bad about Natalie Portman, please send it my way.  Thanks.

Rumours

So I heard some buzz on the internet that Lee Dewyze and Lacey Brown might be dating.

I am not sure the credibility of the source.  I am not stating this as accurate information, because I have NO idea.  I first heard a little bit of this buzz was the week she was in the audience (I think it was the week Didi Benami got bounced; or maybe the week before).

Anyhow.  I know nothing on this matter.

HOWEVER.

I did happen to notice last night that, for the top 12 group number (which was kind of odd in and of itself to randomly reunite the top 12 before the finale, but whatever), there was one part where Lee and Lacey were paired together (all the guys and girls were coupled off at this point).  They appeared to have some kind of connection.   Maybe it was just getting into the character of the song or good acting or something like that.

Does anyone else know anything about this?   Are Lee Dewyze and Lacey Brown dating?  Is this just a rumor?  If it's a rumor, where did the rumor come from?  Your thoughts?

Anyone Else Notice?

What's with Justin Long popping up EVERYWHERE lately? I just saw him in a trailer for ANOTHER movie! You all are probably most familiar with him as the Mac, as in "Hi, I'm a Mac".

Don't get me wrong - I own an apple. I like Justin Long as much as the next gal. He's got a little bit of an appeal - like that nice, better than average but still an every day guy who is probably somewhat laid back and humble because he is just an everyday guy. He also has that alternative appeal, whereas it's easy to like him because he's different; not someone totally mainstream.

Anyhow. Justin Long showing up EVERYWHERE, being in multiple movies, and growing a hollywood ego pretty much knocks out all of the positive attributes listed in the previous paragraph. That just leaves him as a slightly better than average looking guy who's a second (or even third) rate Brad Pitt/George Clooney/Matthew McConaughey.

Some of You May Have Noticed....

....it's been a while since I've hated on Barack.  Well, I am not hating on Barack - I think he's doing ok (considering he hasn't even taken office yet) - he's appointed some smart people, which is all he's really been asked to do so far - ok, fine....

However, I've had enough!!  I've had enough of talking about him!  ENOUGH!  (Yes, I realize I'm doing it now.)  Obviously, Barbara Walters (who, for someone who really had to work hard to break barriers for women in journalism, seems to be phoning it in over the past couple years) named him the most fascinating person of the year.  I'm sick of everyone being fascinated by him.  I'm sick of commemorative plates (shouldn't that come after the end of his presidency?!?!  Just sayin'!!).  

I'm sick of articles about 'what's on Obama's I-pod', 'Christmas at the Obama house', 'the Obama daughter's chores', 'Obama's haircut' - AHHHHH!!!   Seriously, the man is our president - not Britney Spears.  I realize there's a certain amount of human interest stories with all public figures, but COME ON.  

I can't help but think - two popular presidents from my lifetime - Clinton and Reagan - certainly had their moments when they were less than loved by the general public.  All president approval ratings have ebbs and flows - and Obama is only human.  I can't wait until he formally assumes office so the press and everyone else can stop worshiping the ground he walks on.  URGH!
