A Tourist's Guide to the Full House House

Recently, I went to San Francisco for work.  I had been there back last September.  And I missed the opportunity to do something very important - to see the Full House house.

Ok, for those, like me, who are Full House aficionados, if you will.... Here's a quick guide to 'the Full House house' for those who might be visiting San Francisco.

Generally speaking - there are three options:

1)  1882 Girard Street - this is, allegedy, the address the Tanner's said they lived at.  Source unknown.  However, to my knowledge, there isn't much there.

2)  1709 Broderick Street - this the well-known white house with the red door, seen below.  To my knowledge, from some brief online searches - this is a private residence.  Someone bought it; someone attempts to live there in peace (with occasional full house enthusiasts coming by knocking).  If you look on Google maps - this address is noted as 'the full house house'.

3)  The Painted Ladies in Alamo Square - this is, IMO, what you really want to see.  Aside from being famous historical architecture (or something like that), and, generally pretty - these babies are from the opening scenes where the Tanners have a picnic and play kickball.  They are also accompanied by a nice little park across the street from them (Alamo Square) where you can sit, chat, and enjoy the day.

So in short, for Full House enthusiasts, those are your three choices (that I know of), along with my recommendation.  Anyone else know of anywhere else Full House significant out in San Francisco?  You got it, dude!

Upcoming Travel

So, this is out of character for me, but in the next six weeks, I have FOUR (!!!) trips coming up.  I am super stoked.  One of them will be to San Francisco.

I will be there on my own over a weekend.  I'm a little weirded out about the idea of traveling alone, but it just so happened this way and I'm super pumped to see San Fran.  I'm now taking any/all suggestions on what to see and do while I'm there.  I'll probably do Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, and, of course....

The Full House House.  Duh.  Like there are other choices.  #1 priority.

Another Throw-Back

What is that on my fork, you ask?  It's deep fried butter.  And it was, let me tell you, delicious.  Not quite as good as deep fried snickers.  Or, if you're in a savory mood, deep friend bacon.  But it's yummy.  Please disregard the deep fried look on my friend and my faces.

Fears.

When I was little, I was afraid of flying.    I think, from the experience of having done it a bit, I've gotten over it.  However, Southwest Airlines is apparently putting this to the test with their recent, uhh, sunroofs on their aircrafts.  (Editor's sidenote:  I kid.  Sort of.)   My experience flying Southwest in the past was pleasant - I am hoping for a repeat without any surprise technical problems....

The Travel Bug Bit Me....

So, just as I was saying that prior to my Miami trip, I hadn't been out of town in forever, another trip has arrived on my horizon.  I'm San Diego bound with one of my best college friends.  Woohoo!

I'll be staying at the above resort (Humphrey's Half Moon Inn) - review to come.  I look very forward to this trip.  I have already 'Monica Gellared out' this trip and suggested a complete and total itinerary - I made sure to hold off on this until my counterpart booked her non-refundable airfare.  

Anyhow.  As I said, I'm very excited.  If anyone has any San Diego must-see/should avoid suggestions, I am very open to them.  I expect to be an avid traveler by the end of the year.  Pretty soon my passport will be full - maybe by the end of this year I'll even get my first passport.

Travel

So I've sucked at blogging.  I want to blame the fact that I was out of town.  Kind of.

Well, as my readers know, I saw Miami.  It was warm and spectacular.  I have not traveled much in my (almost 28!!) years.  There are quite a few places I want to see in the near future.  I've decided to make a list:

Ok, who wants to travel?!

Travel

So, I don't travel much.  I usually have an annual trip to STL, if that counts, but otherwise, most of my friends live in the Chicagoland area.  I didn't travel much growing up and I'd hoped to overcome that.  However, with the exception of a Panama City Beach trip back in college (please don't judge, everyone was doing it).

I've tried to figure why I don't travel much in adulthood.  A small part of me thought it was because my friends don't live in other parts of the country, but then again, most people, when they travel, aren't SOLELY visiting people.

Anyhow, then it hit me.  Of all my friends in adulthood, whenever they have traveled and haven't been solely visiting someone - they were traveling with their romantic partner.  Le sigh.  I get it.  This is why I haven't traveled.

Anyhow.  It seems as though there are very few 'girls' trips' since college.  It's probably one part money, another part time off work, a third part time with said significant other.  It's rare that I have girlfriends around who are free and up for doing a girls' tirp.  Well, somehow, the stars have aligned perfectly for me.   I am going to Miami this February!  BEACH TIME.  I am flying Southwest for the first time.  Update and tons of pictures to come.

Traveling Alone

So, I was out with some girlfriends the other night, and this topic came up. Traveling alone. And how we all should do it at some point in our lives.

I am little scared by the idea of this, however, I kind of want to try it. I always say I wished I had a boyfriend simply for a travel buddy. I should so ditch that idea and try this plan out.

Does anyone out there actually do this? Where is a good place to go? I always said I wanted to see France, and no one I would travel with wants to, so I am thinking this is a possibility, but maybe I should start out smaller scale. Your thoughts?

New York City, a Recap

So, as you all probably know, I was in New York City with my mother this past week. That would be the main reason behind the lack of blog updates.

It was grand. Spectacular. There are not words.

However, I, of course, was still thinking about my friends and loyal blog readers while I was gone.

New York City!!!

Next week, I'm going to New York City for a couple days with my mother. We don't have any major clear-cut plans at the moment, but there'll be some serious shopping, eating, and broadway show-seeing going on.

On that note - does anyone have any specific restaurant or (Mom-friendly) bar recommendations? I am taking suggestions now.

P.S. I will try to update the blog from my phone from NYC. We'll see how it goes.

The City So Nice, They Named it Twice!

So my mother and I are about to embark on our annual trip New York City (I am calling it an annual trip with high hopes). We have been there twice before. Now taking suggestions for what to do while in town.

I'll be out of town this coming weekend. This is the first time I've been out of town in a LONG time. This is not, and I repeat, NOT an excuse to not check this blog - a lot of comments may arise (especially since we now have anonymous) that will surely be worth reading. I hope to have good pictures when I return. :)
